You're definitely paying for the view here - not the food. The concept behind Spinners is great - revolving restaurant up high in the air and gorgeous views as far as the eyes can see. There's definitely not a bad seat in the house, and if there is, you won't be there long enough to find out. But, the food? Eh. Not worth the high price tag the view warrants it. It was the concept that pulled some friends and I in for dinner last weekend. I had some friends in from out of town and that's where they wanted to go. Even though I've lived in Tampa for well over a year and a half, I'd never even set foot in the hotel that houses Spinners. The ride up the elevator was cool and it was fun watching the floor move as we were seated. We even took a few shots out the window and giggled at the signs as we rotated, and let us know how many miles we currently were from different spots around the world. However, once I opened the menu I knew we were in trouble. Every description sounded painfully bland and boring, especially considering the $20+ price tag next to even the simplest dish. Yep, definitely paying for the view here. I ordered the blackened shrimp (the cheapest item on the seafood menu) and requested a mango dressing on my salad. The salad was good, with mandarin oranges and fresh veggies founding out the plate. The shrimp were just okay. The whole dish reminded me of boring hotel food you would find in any other hotel restaurant around the country. The whole plate was just as bland and boring as I had predicted. I was hoping for a little more due to the restaurant's reputation, but no dice. Oh, well. At least I can now say I've ate at the restaurant and that it's not worth the hype in the least. The views are cool, but there are much better restaurants to eat in the area. Much, much, much better.

A group of us (eight people) were looking for a place to have lunch on a rainy Saturday afternoon. We were a bit worried about getting in somewhere - so we decided on Spinners since they took reservations! We were seated right away. It's take a full hour to make it all the way around - and it took a few in our group a bit to get used to it. The food and service were great - and the view was fantastic! I would definitely recommend!

This place has an amazing view of the gulf and the bay as it rotates. I think the food is pretty good especially for lunch. I only came once for dinner and thought it was overpriced for the food. Lunch is very reasonable at around $10 per person. If you haven't been here before, go for lunch and you won't be disappointed

Pay Per View dining Because you're paying for the high in the sky view which on a nice day is pretty stunning. The outer edge of the dining room rotates completely around in 1.5 hours. Choose your seat accordingly. The view of the Gulf and beach is interesting. On one hand, it's pretty plain- Water and Sand. But if you look closely, and ignore the drunken airhead birthday girls at the next table, you can watch the currents and tides move the surface of the water. Very interesting! They also have signs for N,S,E,W that show distances to landmarks as you go past that direction. Drinks- They have tiki drinks, which seem moderately priced until you see that they're tiny and mostly ice. Service- My guy was more of a used car salesman than a waiter. And not very good either. He should know how the fish is cooked for an item that's on the printed menu. I was watching him hesitate while deciding if he was going to bullshit the answer or not. He checked the description on the menu- yeah, no it's not on there. I looked. Food- Could have been worse. The kitchen is on the ground floor, and the restaurant is on the top, so the food has to travel by the same elevator that people take to the restaurant. This slows and cools things down a bit. Tips - You can make a reservation, but you can't reserve the window. Hang out at the bar. - Only the outer ring of tables is rotating. If you sit anywhere else, your view stays the same, (except you see different people rotate past) - This isn't a tip so much as a warning. You will experience 2 minutes of hell when your table rotates past the prep and bar area in the back. There's no view and every server and busboy crashes into your table repeatedly every 4.2 seconds. I was on the verge of a homicidal rampage at the end of the 2 minutes of hell. - It's expensive, so make sure you get a good view. - Don't bother asking if you can pee off the top. The windows don't open.

    Good food. Even better view.

I did not eat the food here, but stayed at the Grand Plaza hotel under it. The view is amazing and that is the only reason I give it 3 stars, but I did not eat here from reading the reviews. Also they cook the food down below and bring it up the elevator. Go for drinks and go to a place like snapper's sea grill for dinner. I really liked that place.

Go for the view, and about nothing else. This place is cool for sunset, you get a 360 degree view of oceanside St Pete as well as the bayside. The restaurant revolves, so your table will make a trip around the entire restaurant once every 2 hours or so. Food is not good, service is sporadic at best, but that view was worth it anyway. Drinks were nothing special, full service bar, drinks were $4 beers, $7 martinis and frozen drinks, some specialty drinks for $8. I'd stick to alcohol, food was crappy and takes forever because they cook it in the hotel's kitchen and then bring it up the elevator to the restaurant. So save some money and just get a little tipsy. This place fills up for sunset, we got there about 630, sunset was at 715 and we were able to get a table on the revolving part for our group of 5 without a wait. So like I said, come here for sunset, grab a few drinks and then go to a different place for dinner because the food and service leaves something to be desired.

The rotating view of this location is beautiful. We ate lunch here during a rainstorm and our 360 degree views were seriously impressive. We came here for my friend's birthday lunch and I really enjoyed the seafood appetizer. Service was a little slow but our cocktails were strong and good and food was solid. Let's be honest.... You're here for the view. The food and drinks are good and service is sincere and somewhat slow. Who cares? The view is gorgeous. This is a unique offering in Tampa. Get your butt here now!

The reviews were mixed but we had to give it a try just for the atmosphere. The views are beautiful and we did make a complete 360 turn while dining. The service was efficient, attentive and professional. Very large drink menu and typical beer options. The prices are very high and it is clear that you are paying for the ambiance. Our ceasar salad was phenomenal, the bread sticks were fresh, and the clam chowder was also great. My husband ordered the filet mignon with crab meat and it was cooked exactly as requested; rare. The fresh veggies and mashed potatoes were all very good as well. We wouldn't say it was the best steak ever but definitely worth a try if you're going to eat here. I ordered the shrimp Alfredo. It came with a lot of large shrimp which was great, but the Alfredo sauce was very bland. I suggest going for appetizers, drinks and desserts. Although we didn't try dessert, the display was beautiful. All in all, worth a try at least once.

Bad food. Bad service. Nice view. This is a restaurant located on the top floor of a hotel located right on the beach. The main eating section rotates. It takes about an hour to rotate all the way around so no matter where you're seated, you'll get a view of every direction. In different locations there are signs that say how far away certain cities are: Rio, Lima, Miami, Sheboygan, even Brisbane. The food was from mediocre to bad. We were there at lunch time. They had burgers and sandwiches. I got the cuban sandwich. It was edible. It came with tortilla chips with a little thing of salsa enough for about a chip and a half. The tortilla chips obviously weren't made onsite, and they were stale. Precious ordered a burger. The server explained that the rarest they'll serve a burger is "medium". Precious got a medium, but it was burnt. It was burnt black, and inside it was gray and dry. She refused to eat it. Psycho-Dad almost puked from what he ate. Our server was not friendly. He wasn't rude, but he was not friendly at all and didn't respond to any gestures of friendliness. Precious wanted to return something, and he just took it away. Didn't apologize or ask what could have been done better. Nothing. He just took the plate and walked away. At classy places when something is so bad that you send it back, the server will apologize on behalf of the establishment and a manager will come out, apologize, offer something else and maybe even pay for a dessert. At this place, nope. The view is nice. Big deal. It's not worth it.

Just had dinner here with our 3 kids. The food was very good and kids meals were very reasonably priced ($7 for meal plus drink). The view was fantastic and great service too. Our server, Sarah, was very attentive and friendly and sweet! We had a great time. The view is fantastic in the "golden hour" before sunset. Great restaurant for the whole family and a nice change of pace from eating quick serve meals on the beach.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Food was wonderful. And the service was even better! Our server Wanda was hands down the best! If we owned a restaurant, we would steal her! The views were spectacular! Highly recommend Spinners

  • Keith C.

Dinner and experience were great. Can't beat the view you get. Food itself I think is slightly overpriced. But I guess you're also paying for the food and the view. Service in the place seemed on it with everyone. If you're going in season or off, you'd still be wise to make a reservation if you're going after 5pm for dinner bc space is limited.

The view of St Pete Beach and the bay are unbeatable from Spinners Rooftop revolving restaurant! Definitely worth a sunset seating. We had the Grouper and Chicken Oscar entrees. Not 5 stars but pretty tasty. Our server Charlie was superb!

The level 11 lounge is a very pretty and modern rooftop lounge the drinks are good and and the view is nice! The only thing is the main half of the lounge faces the street rather than a full view of the ocean. Staff is awesome. If you go ask for mary beth or Blaine!!! They'll make you feel at home!

  • Candace D.

The best part about this place is the view of course!!!! The food was alright, and the price tag definitely didn't match the quality of food in my opinion. But, you go for the view I guess! While I was there I was told they are currently under construction to have an outdoor lounge area around the restaurant and it was to be finished in May! Now that would be fun!!! Can't wait for that to be finished, might give the restaurant another try!

Lunch was awesome. Great view of St. Pete Beach. Clear day and could see for miles. Got a club wrap. Not expensive given prices in the area. Chips and salsa added. Trying to stay away from more fried food. Wrap was fresh and surprisingly large. You could get an appetizer and share a wrap if you want to hang out for awhile.

Great views. Whole restaurant rotates slowly. In about an hour you went 360 degrees. Good food and good service. Kitchen is downstairs and food is brought up. Some renovations were going on when I was there. Making outdoor bar and dining area. Drawings looks really cool.

Step 1 - Check sunset time. Step 2 - Book meal here 30-45 prior to that time. Step 3 - Bring camera and significant other. Aside from having a 360 view of the ocean, and the rooftops of the area at night, this place is also pretty slick in the way the bar area and eating area is lit at night. Easy booking for a reservation here, and also a follow up call prior to confirm with us, pretty nice. The beer/wine list was nice, I'm sure there were similarities to Bongos on the beach here, but if its a good list to start with then who cares, right? The food was good, I must not have paid attention to Bongos menu because nothing looked similar here like in some reviews. Ignorance is bliss I suppose. One word though, if you can possibly share entrees, do it. I walked out of there with 3/4 of my chicken parmesan pasta. Not that it was bad, mind you. Same rule applies for dessert, share one, if you're still ravenous afterwards, keep going. But hey, at least the amount justifies the price. Been to some restaurants and paid $27 for Rockfish and it came out looking like the size of a goldfish. ;) The staff here were on point with everything, eager to offer suggestions, drinks never ran dry. Plus they were there when you needed them, and away when you wanted to converse with your party. Great place, definitely eager to come back.

If we broke the rating out into more specific parts, it would look like this: 1) View - five stars. You're 12 stories up in what I think is the second tallest building on St Pete Beach (behind the San Seair condo at 14 stories). The bulk of the seats in the restaurant are on a rotating platform so over the course of an hour you get to see all of beautiful St Pete Beach. They do have stationary high top seats as well as bar seating towards the front of the property; some people do get motion sick even at the very slow rate the platform moves. 2) Food - three stars. The menu is basically the same as Bongos beach bar downstairs and all the food comes from the same kitchen, so if you've eaten at Bongos, don't expect anything different. The food is decent for a beach hotel, and consistent. You probably won't go out of your way to have the same thing repeatedly but it's not bad. The one thing I order consistently, which is mysteriously missing from the Spinners dinner menu, is the Plaza Salad with chicken (chicken is not a choice even on the Bongos menu for some reason, but they'll do it). 3) Service - typically one or two stars. I've never encountered any of the service staff that are not nice, but have encountered one or two managers at this property that were rude, and that is probably why they have a high rate of turnover. I'm a local and dine at most of the restaurants up and down St Pete Beach regularly and it's very rare to see the same face at Grand Plaza for more than a year. The high turnover leads to employees who aren't up to speed on everything and that leads to poor service regardless of how polite they are. On my most recent visit to Spinners my wife and I sat at the bar because there was an 80 minute wait. The bartender was very busy, hence service was very slow. We commented on how busy he was and he said it was difficult because he was also training a new employee. We asked him how long he'd been there.... two weeks. So a two week employee is training a new employee lol. Only at Grand Plaza.

The food was delicious, the view was spectacular and my server was great, however, it literally took over a hour to get our food. The server said the kitchen was behind on food (although its wasn't crazy busy) so I've kept this is mind when I rated it 4 starst instead of 3). I enjoyed myself and will def come again, I just hope it doesnt take so long to get my food next time!

  • Jennifer M.

It's not a bad place to go, but I think it's a bit overpriced. The views are great and probably the best part about the experience. The food is decent, but I would rather eat downstairs at Bongos on the beach and I'm pretty sure the food comes from the same kitchen. Not a huge selection for a vegetarian, but I'm sure they would whip up anything you would ask for. I suppose it would be a nice first date place. Again, just not my favorite kind of place.

Come for the nice views, keep your expectations in check. With a bit of updating, this place could be fabulous, as is, it is just ok. The food was better than expected, but it is really overpriced. The food is best compared to decent wedding food. It just seems mass produced. All of the dishes looked identical. I would recommend the grouper picatta as one of the better dinners. For the best value, come for lunch.

If you want to score some cool points in the romance department, this is the place to do it. Beautiful ocean sunset guaranteed to get anyone out of the dog house. The food was pretty good, it didn't blow my mind but the rotating floor did. All in all the atmosphere was intoxicating. Who doesn't love a sunset dinner on the beach?!

This restaurant is a very cool concept, where the outer rim revolves and gives you a 360 degree view of the gulf and intercostal. The views are amazing, especially at sunset. Our server was great. She was as attentive as she needed to be, without being overbearing. She knew the menu and made some very good suggestions. The food was a major disappointment and the reason I am only giving this restaurant 3 stars (it would be less but the atmosphere and drinks brought it up). My Boyfriend got the Filet and I got the Salmon Monaco. Both were subpar and were not fresh or prepared correctly. The meals weren't even near the quality I would expect for the price. The salads were made with fresh spring mix lettuce and presented nicely. Mixed drinks are definitely this restaurant's forte. We had a Lady Godiva and Tiramisu martini for dessert and they were worth every penny. Wine prices were also at par - we went with a bottle of the Castle Rock Pino Noir for less than $45. Overall, I will definitely be returning but not for food. Drinks and the sunset after dinner is the way to go.

  • Audra W.

The view was the best part of the whole experience. The food was overpriced and the service was not that great either considering the place isn't that big. I had a filet mignon with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The steak came out med well when I ordered medium and the potatoes and broccoli were luke warm...gross! Mt boyfriend can cook better steak than this especially for the high price!! You're basically paying for the view you get, but remember you're spinning the whole time so the 'best' view may only be for like 10 mins.

We went here the night before our beach wedding! It was very nice and romantic. The views of the beach were great! Make sure to make an early reservation to watch the sunset! The food and drinks were very tasty! They have a lot of focus on dessert and vacation drinks, which I love! Meal overall was very filling and satisfying, no small portions here, however a little pricey. I would suggest dressing up and going here for a nice, special occasion meal!

Stunning views, no unpleasant surprises. Reservations are a must. We enjoyed our lunch very much! A friend in Philadelphia recommended this place. I will recommend it to my friends, too.

  • Liz M.

The spectacular view is worth the high price for mediocre food. Appetizers were much better than the entree. The salad was awesome as was the ranch dressing. Broiled fish was a watery disaster. Ribeye steak was tough and grizzly. All in all, we didn't complain though, because we really enjoyed watching the sunset as our seating area slowly made its way around.

  • Jeremy C.

Decent food but you eat here for the rotating view (stunning). Go before 3/4pm for lunch prices. Or get drinks at bar after to avoid $25 entrees. Our hostess did not accommodate us when we asked for a different table. This felt unnecessary as there were plenty of open tables. Whoever came up with idea to show how far away different international cities are at each point on compass had a brilliant idea. Added to the rotation!

I stayed at this hotel and loved it. The restaurant was also great the view from spinners is amazing. I couldn't believe it rotated I've never heard if that but it was so cool. The atmosphere is very formal. Most people that were there were in formal dresses. I ordered chicken parm and it was so good the portion was huge though I could have shared with my boyfriend. It is rather expensive also. We got the raspberry cheesecake for dessert and it was the best. We also ordered room service a few times and I got the raspberry and mango serried scallops which were the best I have ever had over all the place is very good.

Revolving restaurant with a view. I think they know that will bring people in so they cut every corner when it comes to the food. First thing that turned me off was the horrible "smooth jazz" uptight vibe. My salad had a nice accent of 20 slices of canned mandarins. Can you not find fresh citrus down here in Florida? My entree was the special, bacon wrapped salmon with asparagus and rice. It tasted fine, nothing super special about it. The main complaint is that it cost $32. I would think max should have been about $24 and about $18 would feel fair for what I got. I tipped 20% for average service and I'll never be back. Good job spinners.

I went for lunch the day after my wedding. This place gets 2 stars for the views. We were sat and we ordered drinks. When the server brought the drinks, we promptly ordered an appetizer and entrees. After a half hour wait, the appetizer finally came out. It was mediocre at best. Then after another 25 minute wait, our sandwiches finally came. They tasted like they were something I had at the hospital after I had a baby. I am not picky, and try to look on the bright side of things, but when service takes that long for poor food, it makes me upset. We should have listened when the table next to us asked the server if dessert would take an hour too as we sat down. Great views don't allow everything else to be lackluster.

Awesome Views. Food was OK. I was there for lunch when it is mostly sandwich's and such. Dinner looks nicer. The place spins around 360 in one hour. Great Service.

Horrible service!!! We waited an hour and 45 minutes for our food. We finally told them to just bring it to us to go. When I asked to talk to the manager, he was extremely rude, and never offered an apology. I frequent restaurants often, and I have never experienced such horrible service...

This is a definite destination here in St. Pete Beach. The views, constantly changing as the restaurant revolves, are wonderful. You get a real sense of St. Pete Beach as an island. The food and service are great, too. Servers are prompt, courteous and classy. Sunsets are fabulous and romantic! I highly recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant has really incredible view of the golf as the name applies it really spins! This restaurant is not known for it's food it is all about the rotating view which let's you see all angles of St. Pete and beyond. The food is average and the service is great and should be on the top of your list to take the kids because of it's unique experience. Every year we vacation at St. Pete and it is on my kids top favorite restaurants to go to here. Over all it is really cool.

The most disappointed I have been on my birthday was having a meal here. This was my wife's surprise to me. She ordered blackened mahi mahi, I ordered a 12 oz strip steak medium well. Our waiter twice came up to us to ask us our order again. The second time around he actually had the kitchen on the phone. They apparently did not have the mahi-mahi on their menu. Strike one They bring our dinners out. My steak was cooked medium rare. Had returned to the kitchen. When they did, they barely did anything to the steak and it may have been medium by the time it came out. Strike two I didn't want to wait any longer to eat, so I did not only have a couple of bites of the steak and the fries were completely cold. They took my food off the bill. My wife's blackened mahi-mahi was so black and that it made her mouth burn. Strike three This place was awful at best. Stay away if you're really looking for good food And to top it off, my wife had told them about the surprise and they never acknowledged it at dinner.

We were staying at the Grand Plaza so had to check this out. The food was pretty good, and you can't beat the views. The top rotates like the Stratosphere in Vegas, just not as tall. We got the seafood trip appetizer and the california burger and both were really good. Our waitress was super friendly and chatty the whole time. I would go back again if we stayed there. It's worth going for lunch at least just to get the experience.

Even though we had stayed at the hotel before, this was our first time at Spinners. We had heard great things about it from other hotel guests and also my parents and my brother who had been on past trips. We went for lunch because we wanted to make sure we would get a full rotation during daylight. I think this place gets really busy just before sunset, but at lunchtime on a weekday it wasn't busy at all. The food we had was pretty good. We got the caprese cocktail for an appetizer. It was much more than two people could eat when expecting more food, but we enjoyed it. For my main course I got the Italian panini, it was very good. I forget what the hubby ordered, but it was some kind of seafood dish and I remember that he liked it. We really loved the views you can see from up there. And they have signs on every other pillar naming various cities and their distance from you. That was fun and interesting. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area for a unique experience and one of a kind views.

The view was fantastic, especially at sunset! Definitely the reason to go! The entire upstairs roof-top lounge slowly rotates around with an amazing view of St.Pete beach and the surroundings! The food was mediocre (I ordered a vegetarian pasta dish with some boring vegetables) and the tap water had a very bad taste (I ordered bottled water which I normally would never do).

When you pull up to the hotel, it looks a little out dated and run down. I almost suggested to my out of town guest let's go somewhere else, but continued on. Once inside the lobby, you go directly to the elevator for Spinners. The lobby is 80s Miami Vice style, but it's nice and clean. The elevator ride was quick and scenic. Once the elevator doors open, you step into the Spinners bar and directed to the hostess to be seated. The 1st impression is the beautiful view of the beach and that every table has a window view. We didn't notice the rotation until after several minutes of sitting. The waitress said when the crowd is low the rotation is slower, so when a big crowd of people came I think they sped it up, but you won't get motion sick. Overall, this is a great place to bring out of town guests for lunch. Lunch is not too pricey and the view is priceless.

We had higher hopes for this place - we got married at this hotel 9 years ago and thought we would come back for dinner - long island drinks were almost all sour mix and almost $10!!! So not worth it! We only ordered a couple drinks and appitizers and it was over $80!! Don't think we will come back - slow wait staff and bad drinks and expensive :-(

My husband and I had dinner her for Valentine's Day. He suggested we go there for dinner after hearing about it from a friend at work, and after reading the previous reviews I have to say I was very skeptical. I am extremely glad we decided to try it out anyway. We were very pleased with the service and the quality of food, especially on a busy night such as Valentine's Day. Yes, the food is adamantly priced and you are paying for the view as well, but we found the food was not lacking. We had the Mango Scallop Skewers, which were delicious and very flavorful. We each had different steak entrees and they were well seasoned, cooked perfectly and served with an amazing salad. I recommend the mango vinaigrette. We didn't have an issue with the food temperature either. Both of our meals arrived piping hot. If I had any complaint, it would only be that when the place is crowded it seems a bit of a task to get around as they do seem to have the tables places very close together. Of course, it may only be when trying to accommodate higher levels of patrons on busy holidays. All in all, we had a great experience and will definitely be back.

We went to Spinners fully aware the online reviews were only OK. Our experience was what the reviews said you go for the views not the food. The views are the best in St. Pete, ask for the sunset table. I found the food only OK mainly because my steak was cool by the time it was served. Also, stay away from the tap water, like all of St. Pete beach, it has a funny taste which they should filter before serving.

Went in with some trepidation given the gimmick of a spinning dining room and was pleasantly surprised. While I could still do without the moving floor I had an enjoyable meal. Our waitress Darlena was fantastic. The food was a bit over priced but pretty good. I had a jerk steak special which was very tasty. Friends had coconut crusted grouper which they very much enjoyed. The place is bit of a cheese fest but once you get past that you realize it's kinda fun.

I had lunch with friends at Spinners. As others have said: you're paying for the view and not the food. Service personal were attentive & provided adequate service during the meal. For an appetizer we ordered for $10 mango glazed scallops. The mango glaze was tasty which tried to hide a tough, average sized scallops. For my lunch, I chose a medium done hamburger. I was kind of surprised to get a pre-pressed hamburger on an English muffin like bun. Sorry - i was really expecting fresh hamburger meat. A McDonald's hamburger has more flavour than this hamburger. I have to admit, the french fries were good - a little stingy on portion but good just the same. The revolving views from the restaurant is breathtaking - I can only imagine what it looks like at sunset. I would go back to Spinners for the view but would order something safe like a side of fries, salad or fresh veggies. Hopefully the dinner chef is a better cook than the afternoon chef.

Server Kristie charged us $8.00 more tip than we gave her on the check. It's pretty much stealing. Also we weren't hungry so we asked for $9.00 crab cakes but for some reason we got a giant plate consisting of: French Fries, Vegetables & Crab Cakes for $30.00..!!! (We never asked for any of that stuff & we don't eat french fries) ...So not only we got a wrong order but also got overcharged with tips that we never legally authorized. (This was on March 28th, 5:24pm) Server# 460.

Food was incredible! So glad it wasn't just a novelty. Went here for my engagement dinner and couldn't have been more pleased. The best clam chowder I've ever had.

Atmosphere and view was great. The food left a little to be desired. The salad was good and so was the beef stew. The brandy peppercorn ribeye was full gristle and very plain, not very tender. I ordered the broiled trio of shrimp, scallops and white fish. The shrimp and scallops were good because they had their own sweet flavor. My rice pilaf was very plain and a little crunchy honestly. My vegetables were very good but i can go any where for vegetables. Our appetizer of smoked fish dip was very good and desert of mango cheesecake and chocolate caramel pecan bunt cake was great. My advice....go for drinks an appetizer and desert. Don't waste the money on the entree - honest abe

Just went to Spinners for some happy hour drinks and to watch the sunset. The top restaurant has a beautiful view of the beach and St. Pete area. The drinks were some of the best we had all week! Would definetly go back

The view is outstanding but everything fell off quckly after that. The food is prepared on the first floor and is transported in a shared guest elevator so that if the food arrives hot it is by pure luck. I was only about 1/3 finished with my soup and my wife had just started her salad when the entrees arrived. The waiter just left the plates on the table with the plastic plate covers on "to keep them warm". We had to try and remove the covers, move the plates around etc without spilling anything as the waiter never showed up again. The food of course was cold but at least it was expensive.

Spinners has received a 4-star rating from me because everything else has been pretty good during many other visits. Service, taste of food, general food preparation, wait-staff attentiveness-to-needs, etc has all been pretty good. Then I ordered the Surf and Turf with a New York Strip. This "steak" was more like a sandwich steak cut and was served barely warm. It was overcooked (I ordered it medium-rare) and flavorless. The signature fat-chunks that you find on good quality New York Strips that are supposed to be melt-in-your-mouth consistency had the texture and chewability of a very tough mushroom. The meat texture was very grainy almost like it was a preformed piece of ground steak. The outside of the meat had deep burn marks from the grill which did nothing for the already flavorless cut. Save yourself the embarrassment of a $30 flavorless, generic "sandwich steak" and select some appetizers and a nice drink. Those were the only delicious part of the meal.

We arrived around 6:30 on a Saturday night and were seated immediately. The view was amazing. Started with the spinach and artichoke dip, it was good. The vegetable beef soup was delicious. The New York strip was average, nothing spectacular. The vegetables were fine, but my baked potato was a little undercooked. My fiancée had the blackened shrimp and said the seasoning was salty and overpowering. The service was good at the beginning of the night then became progressively worse throughout the meal. Overall it's overpriced for the food so mostly what you're paying for is the view, which was perfect around sunset.

I went here for my daughters rehearsal dinner and was VERY disappointed. They had dvance knowledge how many of us were going to be having dinner here as my daughter was getting married the next day right at the Grand Plaza. The told us how wonderful the food would be as it was the same food we would have for the reception. All I can say is THANK GOODNESS that was not true. First of all the food was all COLD! My daughter had ordered the prime rib that was sent back three times to have it cooked to the medium rare they requested and the only reason it didn't go back the fourth time is that we gave up! The pasta was drowning in water not having been drained properly and was awful! The service was fair and we did feel bad for our server because the food was SO bad! Out of our whole party tere was not ONE person that enjoyed their meal. We were prepared to pay a little more just because of the ambiance but was SO disappointed at the quality of the food. We will never eat here again and will never recommend this to anyone that we know. The views were wonderful and that was the only thing that made this eal tolerable.
